Good morning all! I have a bit of news today. I will be starting a new job on Tuesday, which I’m very excited about, but I’m going to be losing some of my reading time. So, I will be posting reviews but they may not be quite as frequent. As for the weather, we are having a rainy day here in North Dakota, a sure sign that fall is not to far away. Let’s take a look at the numbers for this week.
TBR – I finished reading 2 books this week and I did not add any to the list. The total is now 269!
Goodreads Challenge – I am 2 books behind schedule this week.
NetGalley Score – Still at 85%.
John Connolly Challenge – I am 75% through “The Reapers” audiobook.
Coming Up – I finished “No Cure for the Dead” by Christine Trent last night and I’ll be getting that review up today or tomorrow. I will probably also have my review of “The Reapers” up sometime this coming week. I am currently reading “Queens of Georgian Britain” by Catherine Curzon and after that I will be visiting Flaxborough again with “One Man’s Meat” by Colin Watson.
Well, wish me luck on my new endeavor and I’ll check in again next week.
Another Sunday, another round-up. It’s been blistering hot here in North Dakota this week and I turned over another birthday. But have I managed to do any reading this week? Let’s look and see.
TBR – I read 2 books this week and added 1 leaving a new total of 271. Hmmm…I thought I’d done better than that.
Goodreads Challenge – I am 2 books behind schedule.
NetGalley Score – Still at 85%.
John Connolly Challenge – No progress on this one.
Coming Up – I am currently reading “Maladies & Medicine” by Jennifer Evans & Sara Read. After that I’ll be reading “No Cure for the Dead” by Christine Trent and then “Queens of Georgian Britain” by Catherine Curzon.
So that’s the update for the week. Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me and a hope you have a wonderful week.
Good morning world! Actually, it’s not that great for me because I was awake all night with some kind of stomach bug. On the upside, I have a birthday coming up this week and that should be fun. So let’s take a look at this week’s numbers.
TBR – This week I finished one book and acquired one book. TBR total is now 272. Unfortunately, I got a little lazy about writing up my reviews and I owe you guys a couple.
Goodreads Challenge – I am currently 2 books behind schedule, but I’m sure I can fix that.
NetGalley Score – Still stuck at 85%.
John Connolly Challenge – I’m listening to “The Reapers”… very slowly.
Coming Up – I’ve decided for August to focus most of my reading on my backlog of books from Pen & Sword Publishing, so expect some historical book reviews. First up will be “Fatal Evidence” by Helen Barrell. Then I’ve got “Weekend At Thrackley” by Alan Melville.
So that’s it for now. I hope you all have a great week!
Happy Sunday everybody! I hope you have blue skies and lots of sunshine wherever you are. It’s time to check in with the numbers and see what I’ve accomplished this week. So let’s get into it.
TBR – I finished 3 books this week. Pretty impressive if I do say so myself. How many books did I add to the list you ask? 6 books!! Yes people, NetGalley got me again and I lost all self-control. So the TBR has increased to 273. Go ahead and laugh, I know you want to.
Goodreads Challenge – I am currently 1 book behind schedule so this one I have almost under control.
NetGalley Score – 85%
John Connolly Challenge – I started listening to The Reapers last week but I haven’t made any progress with it this week.
Coming Up – “In Pursuit of Dragons” by Anne Renwick. “The Crooked Staircase” by Dean Koontz. “Weekend at Thrackley” by Alan Melville.
Another Sunday, another Round-Up! I’ve managed to do a lot of reading this week which was wonderful. So let’s see what the numbers look like.
TBR – I finished reading 4 books and I added ZERO! I also dropped one book off the list because I just wasn’t able to connect with the story. So that gives us a new total of 269. Wow! I wasn’t expecting to drop that far.
Goodreads Challenge – I have dropped back to being just 2 books behind schedule.
NetGalley score – Up 1 to 86%. I am still focusing on NetGalley books until the end of the month so I hope that will continue to go up.
John Connolly Challenge – If you saw my review this week, you know I finally finished “The Unquiet”. I picked up the audiobook of book 8 “The Reapers” this week and hope to get started on it pretty soon. Once again it’s narrated by my current favorite narrator George Guidall so I’m looking forward to it.
Coming Up – I’m currently reading “A Gentleman’s Murder” by Christopher Huang. After that I think I’m going to pick up “The Crooked Staircase” by Dean Koontz. This one is book 3 in the Jane Hawk series which I have been loving. Book 4 comes out in September and I have already requested it from NetGalley. So that’s where things stand right now. I hope you all have a great week and I’m going to go and do some more reading.
Hello everybody! I am back from our trip to Wisconsin Dells, which was wonderful by the way. If you every go there I highly recommend staying at the Wilderness Resort and check out Aunt Jenny’s Got It All shop. It has been so hot back here in North Dakota that one of the main streets near our house has buckled and had to be closed off. They had police all over the place yesterday but if I have a chance to get a picture I’ll post it. Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for, let’s see if I actually read any books this week.
TBR – I’ve read 3 books since my last update and acquired 2 from NetGalley, of course. Total now stands at 274.
Goodreads Challenge – I am currently 4 books behind schedule.
NetGalley Score – I am at 85% still.
John Connolly Challenge – I am ashamed to say that I still have not finished listening to “The Unquiet”.
Coming Up – I am continuing to focus my reading on my backlog of NetGalley books. Currently I am reading “Gods of Howl Mountain” by Taylor Brown. After that will be another trip to Flaxborough with “The Naked Nuns” by Colin Watson. So that’s it for me this week. I hope you all are having an awesome summer and reading lots of wonderful stories. See you next Sunday!
Happy 1st of July! We are about to experience a heat wave here in the Upper Plains and I am not happy about it. Temperatures are expected to be in the 90’s for several days and my husband and I are going to be traveling for most of them. Sidenote: I’m not sure how much reading I will get done this next week because we will also be having family visiting. News update over; let’s look at the numbers:
TBR – I finished one book and I did not add any. The TBR ends the week at 275.
Goodreads Challenge – I am 3 books behind schedule! I really don’t know how I got myself into this situation.
NetGalley Score – 84%
John Connolly Challenge – I’m still listening to “The Unquiet” but I’m about 60% complete so, cross my fingers, maybe I’ll finish it this week.
Coming Up – So I’ve decided for the month of July to primarily read from my NetGalley list. Up next will be “Erasing Memory” by Scott Thornley, after that “Miss Seeton Flies High” by Hamilton Crane. That’s what it looks like folks. I will be on a vacation trip next weekend so I’m not sure if I’ll get a round-up posted but if not you will see me again the following Sunday. If you’re in the U.S., have a Happy 4th of July!
Happy Sunday followers! I can’t believe that this is the last Sunday in June. Not much going on around here this past week, but tomorrow my son and I will be going to his new college for registration and orientation, so that will be a big day. But you’re just here to see what my numbers look like this week, so let’s get into it.
TBR – I finished one book but I didn’t add any this week. TBR is now at 276.
Goodreads Challenge – Not so good, I am 2 books behind schedule this week.
NetGalley Score – Good news here, my score rose to 84%.
John Connolly Challenge – I’m still listening to “The Unquiet”. I’m about halfway through.
Coming Up – I’m thinking about reading nothing but NetGalley titles for the month of July so I can bring down my backlist of titles. But for this coming week, I hope to finish “The Sentinel’s Reign” by Suzanne Rogerson and maybe “The Unquiet” also. I have some other irons in the fire right now that are taking away some of my reading time so I’m not going to commit myself to too much.
Have a wonderful week.
Good morning one and all! It’s been a rainy weekend here so far. We even had some hail on Friday night. My new flowers are looking pretty sad after that but they appear to still be alive at least. It’s been a slow reading week for me so let’s take a look and see just how slow.
TBR – I finished reading … wait for it … 1 book! Woo-hoo! Yea me! I also added 2 to the list. So my total is now 277.
Goodreads Challenge – I am 1 book behind schedule.
NetGalley score – Still stuck at 83%.
John Connolly Challenge – I am listening to book 6 “The Unquiet” but I haven’t been very consistent with my listening so I haven’t gotten very far yet.
Coming Up – I am currently reading “Broomsticks Over Flaxborough” by Colin Watson, and “The Sentinel’s Reign” by Suzanne Rogerson. Broomsticks is already out and Suzanne’s book releases on the 29th if I’m not mistaken.
So that’s how the week ends. I hope you all are doing better with your reading goals than I am. See you next week!
So yesterday evening I went out to water my plants and trees and when I came back into the garage I heard a bird chirping and movement in the eaves of the garage. Turns out there was a little bird trapped inside and she couldn’t figure out how to get low enough to go through the doors. We tried scaring her in the right direction but that was a complete fail. So before I went to bed I decided to leave the walk-thru door open and I put a bucket of water right next to the door thinking she was probably thirsty and once she found the water she could just go out the door. Well, apparently this technique works because this morning there was no sign of her. That was a happy ending. On the other hand, the wild rabbits have been chewing on the flowers that my Mom and I recently planted. Not such a happy ending. End of wildlife adventure, let’s move on to books.
TBR – I finished reading 2 books and then NetGalley decided to grant some of my wishes (the problem with wishing for things is that you might get them) and I added 3 books to the list. The grand total is now 276.
Goodreads Challenge – The main page counter is still being glitchy but I am back to being on track here.
NetGalley Score – Still at 84%.
John Connolly Challenge – I picked up the audiobook version of Book 6 “The Unquiet” and the narrator is one of my all-time favorites.
Coming Up – So I’m listening to “The Unquiet“. I have also started reading “Jar of Hearts” by Jennifer Hillier (releases on June 12th). After that, I can’t wait to pick up Suzanne Rogerson’s new book “The Sentinel’s Reign” (available June 29).
I hope you all are having a good weekend. Please comment below if you have a wildlife adventure you’d like to share.
Happy Reading !
