Good new everybody! Suzanne Rogerson’s Silent Sea Chronicles is now a 3 book boxed set. I have had the privilege so far of reading and reviewing the first 2 books. “The Lost Sentinel” and .“The Sentinel’s Reign” (click links for my reviews). I’m looking forward to reading the third book very soon.
I think these books are some of the best fantasy books I’ve ever read. If you haven’t discovered Suzanne Rogerson yet, now is a great time to do so. The boxed set is on sale for 99p/99 cents worldwide for one week starting on Oct. 4. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!

Today is release day for this, the newest book, from Suzanne Rogerson! The Sentinel’s Reign is book 2 in the Silent Sea Chronicles. In this installment, Calissa has become the Sentinel and Tei her confidante. Both are struggling a bit with the adjustment to their new roles. At the same time, Rathnor is upping his campaign against magic and the death and destruction is increasing. As Rathnor continues to get stronger the fate of Kalaya and its magic is becoming more and more precarious. Meanwhile, Captain Farrell is desperately trying to improve the lives of his people on Stone Haven, but unknown to him Rathnor is gradually taking over his mind and bending him to his will. What will the fate of Kalaya and Stone Haven be? Will Rathnor’s evil schemes be defeated? Will Calissa and Tei learn how to work together for the future of Kalaya?
Yummy is the word that comes to mind when I think about this book. As the second book in the series, my favorite characters are back, Callisa, Tei, Brogan and Mara. There are also some secondary characters that get a bigger role in this one, like Hafender the giant of a man who commands the military forces of the exiles. The characters that return just continue to develop as individuals and in their relationships with each other. The attraction between Tei and the handsome Brogan sees the most development and it is quite charming. I loved revisiting Kalaya and as in previous books the descriptions of the world and of the magic it contains are beautiful. I always appreciate the way the descriptions are woven into the story and don’t feel heavy or lecture-y. The story moves forward at a good pace that keeps the reader’s attention and there are enough curveballs to keep you guessing at the final outcome. There is a 3rd book planned for this series so don’t despair if you get to the end and want more. Even if you don’t like fantasy books usually, you will like this series, so don’t delay, get your copy today!

Fantasy lovers need to be celebrating right now because “The Lost Sentinel” is being released this week! You do not want to miss this first in a new series from Suzanne Rogerson. The story takes place on the island of Kalaya where the magic that sustains life on the island is dying. Tei and her father are forced to flee their home in the night because Tei has a magical gift. The Assembly is cracking down on those with magic in an attempt to completely rid the island of magic. Tei must flee to the mountains of Turrak, the only place where those with magic can live in peace. When she arrives in Turrak, she quickly learns that she is the Confidante to the next Sentinel. The problem is no one knows who the next Sentinel is, and Tei is the only one who can find out. After her harrowing escape, and being narrowly rescued by Rike and Garrick, Tei must quickly learn about her power and then embark on a dangerous journey, always looking over her shoulder for the Masked Riders who would destroy her.
I love the characters in this story. From Tei, the reluctant seeker, to Garrick, the hunky hero, you get a broad range of personalities. One of my favorite things about this author is her ability to develop her characters in a way that feels natural and flows well within the story. In the same way she develops her fantasy world. There is no heavy world drawing passages but you get your knowledge of the way things work as a natural part of the story. For example, the reader discovers the tunnels and caves of Turrak as the characters are discovering them. And then you have the story itself which is full of surprising plot twists, moves at a really great pace, and draws the reader in from beginning to end. As with the author’s first book, I cannot say enough good things about this book. I am so excited that this world will be a series so I can hang out with these characters again next year. You will not be sorry if you read this book.
