Book Review: “Fort MacHenry” by Douglas W. McHenry

Book Review: “Fort MacHenry” by Douglas W. McHenry

A slightly quirky screenplay, soon to be a movie. Because this is a screenplay it doesn’t read the same as a novel but the story is still a good one. Jack MacHenry was a successful property developer until the recession hit. In the course of a few months his business goes bankrupt and his wife divorces him. Jack decides to take what cash he has left and having just learned that his father left him some acreage in California, he heads west. He stops when he hits Malibu and finds himself a job as a security guard in an office building. While patrolling the halls one day he, literally, runs into Angela and the attraction is instant. What comes next will put both of their lives in danger.

I found the storyline of this book to be intriguing and I just couldn’t help but be charmed by Jack MacHenry. The story has some thrills and conspiracy going on and should appeal to a broad range of readers.
