Book Review: “Curious Minds” by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton

Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton have teamed up again to create a new mystery series. “Curious Minds” does not disappoint. The book is set to be released on August 16, 2016 and I’m already anxious for book 2 to be available.

Emerson Knight is a young and eccentric millionaire who is so fascinated by his gold reserves that he wants to see the actual gold bars. Riley Moon started working for the finance firm Blane-Grunwald one week ago when she is sent to meet Mr. Knight at his home. Emerson is convinced there is a conspiracy in place to steal all the world’s gold, and he’s determined to uncover the truth. When Riley’s boss goes missing Emerson offers to find him and Riley gets assigned to assist him. The adventure that follows takes them across the country and back and puts their lives in danger.

I absolutely loved Emerson and Riley. Emerson is as quirky as a millionaire can be and he drives Riley crazy. In addition, Riley thinks his whole conspiracy theory is insane and doesn’t want to have any part of it. Riley is young and ambitious and doesn’t see how working with Emerson can improve her intended career path at Blane-Grunwald. Both characters have fun and engaging personalities. The story itself is well developed with a humorous quality to it that made the reading really enjoyable.

Happy Reading!
