Book Review: “Marriage: Convenient or Covenant” by Stephen Matthews

Book Review: “Marriage: Convenient or Covenant” by Stephen Matthews

We all go into our marriages with the idea that it will last till death do us part but statistics show over and over again that this is not always the case. Even in Christian marriages the chance of avoiding divorce is only about 50%. In this book Stephen Matthews lays out the foundational truths about marriage from a biblical perspective. He uses scripture liberally to enforce his points. He also goes into detail about the shift in thinking that must occur when two people come together to form a lifetime union. I found this book to be full of good insights into what it takes to make a biblical marriage work. This book would definitely be useful for couples who are considering marriage but also for people who have been married for a while. It’s easy to forget, after many years of marriage, why you came together in the first place. Reading this book can serve as a good “refresher” course for any married couple.

Alinefromabook’s recommendation: THUMBS-UP and appropriate for teens and adults.

Happy Reading!
