“How do you like my hat?” from Go, Dog, Go by P.D. Eastman
So you may be asking why this quote? If your not, then you can stop reading right now. Here’s the story. I’m surfing around on my computer and thinking that I need to go out this afternoon and see a friend. Well, it’s darn cold today where I am so I’m thinking I need to put on my “darn cold” hat. You know, the one with all the colors and the earflaps and the tassel sticking out the top. So then, my mind pictures greeting my friend and saying “How do you like my hat?”. Whereupon, I realize that there’s a book attached to that quote. After a little mental searching I remember Go, Dog, Go and the boy and girl dogs who periodically throughout the book ask each other that question. What’s the significance of this little mental rabbit trail? Nothing really, except this was one of my favorite books as a child and I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the books that taught me to love reading.
